Bro. Truthful– Hi Elder Hurtful can I please ask you what your congregation’s view of paedophilia is and how you handle the problem in your congregation?

Elder. Hurtful- Yes I am happy to explain this to you. We have found the best policy is to tackle anybody who complains about the problem straight away and tell them not to go to the police or talk any more about it. If they won’t stop and continue to make their voice heard then what we have done in the past is divert attention. Tell them it’s their own fault their child was abused, even tell them they are the abusers. This should shock them into silence. Lying about Brothers and Sisters is always a good way to stop problems.

Bro. Truthful– That’s Interesting and also very scary that you would do that. But what happens if the person starts to do some research because you have lied about them and they see that evidence for paedophilia in Jehovah’s Witnesses is overwhelming. Perhaps they come across the Australia Royal Commission. What do you do then? and if they begin to see that you are selling lots of Kingdom Halls to pay for all the court cases and compensation claims.

Elder. Hurtful– Again that’s easy. We just say that those rumors are “apostate driven lies” as Brother Letts of the Governing Body Showed us.
